Improving ecosystem services through applied agroecology on German farms: costs and benefits

07-10-2024

Temos o prazer de anunciar a publicação do artigo "Improving ecosystem services through applied agroecology on German farms: costs and benefits", desenvolvido no âmbito do projeto EcoStack, financiado pelo European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program (grant agreement No. 773554).

We are pleased to announce the publication of the article "Improving ecosystem services through applied agroecology on German farms: costs and benefits," developed as part of the EcoStack project, funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No. 773554).

This article is co-authored by Fátima Alves and Pedro Mendonça from the Societies and Environmental Sustainability Research Group of the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet, TERRA Associate Laboratory, University of Coimbra, and its extension at the Open University of Portugal. The paper contributes to the EU's Farm to Fork strategy by analysing the socio-economic impacts of agroecological practices, such as flower strips and organic mulching, on farm income and biodiversity. The findings reflect both the costs and potential benefits of these measures, offering insights into making agricultural production more environmentally sustainable.
