Devolução da Cartografia Social da Serra da Malcata
Entre 2023 e 2024, a Societies and Environmental Sustainability Research Line do Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet (CFE), Laboratório Associado Terra da Universidade de Coimbra e da sua extensão na Universidade Aberta de Portugal, em parceria com o Observatório de Territórios Sustentáveis e Saudáveis da Bocaina - OTSS e Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), desenvolveram um processo participativo na Serra da Malcata a fim de mapear as características do território, através de uma abordagem participativa, dando voz aos atores locais para identificar as potencialidades e vulnerabilidades locais.
A devolução da Cartografia Social à comunidade de Vilar Maior, Sabugal, efetuada pela equipa do CFE, teve lugar no dia 27 e 28 de agosto, tendo envolvido ativamente diversos agentes e comunidade local. O mapeamento participativo realizado durante esta dinâmica de coprodução revelou pontos cruciais sobre o território, que irão guiar as ações futuras em torno da preservação socioecológica e melhoria da qualidade de vida dos seus habitantes.

Between 2023 and 2024, the Societies and Environmental Sustainability Research Line of the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet, Associate Laboratory Terra at the University of Coimbra, along with its extension at the Open University of Portugal, in partnership with OTSS - Fiocruz, developed a participatory process in Serra da Malcata. This initiative aimed to map the characteristics of the territory through a participatory approach, giving voice to local actors to identify local potentialities and vulnerabilities.
The feedback of the Social Cartography to the community of Vilar Maior, Sabugal, carried out by the CFE team, took place on August 27 and 28, actively involving various stakeholders and the local community. The participatory mapping conducted during this co-production dynamic revealed crucial insights about the territory, which will guide future actions aimed at socio-ecological preservation and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.
