Temos o prazer de anunciar que a investigadora Sofia Fernandes é a mais recente doutora do nosso grupo Societies and Environmental Sustainability Research Line do Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet, Laboratório Associado Terra da Universidade de Coimbra e da sua extensão na Universidade Aberta de Portugal!A Sofia defendeu hoje, 04 de junho, de forma brilhante a tese intitulada "Human mobility and environmental degradation – impacts on rural communities in Morocco" em Sustentabilidade Social e Desenvolvimento na Universidade Aberta de Portugal, sob a orientação da Professora Fátima Alves e do Professor João Loureiro, tendo sido aprovada com distinção e louvor! Estamos extremamente orgulhosos do seu trabalho e dedicação, que certamente trará grandes contribuições para a área de sustentabilidade ambiental e para a compreensão dos impactos da degradação ambiental na mobilidade humana das comunidades rurais.

We are pleased to announce that researcher Sofia Fernandes is the newest PhD of our Societies and Environmental Sustainability Research Line at the Centre for Functional Ecology - Science for People & the Planet, Associated Laboratory Terra of the University of Coimbra, and its extension at the Universidade Aberta of Portugal!Sofia brilliantly defended her thesis today, June 4th, titled "Human mobility and environmental degradation – impacts on rural communities in Morocco" in Social Sustainability and Development at the Universidade Aberta of Portugal, under the guidance of Professor Fátima Alves and Professor João Loureiro, and was awarded her degree with distinction and honors! We are extremely proud of her work and dedication, which will undoubtedly bring significant contributions to the field of environmental sustainability and the understanding of the impacts of environmental degradation on human mobility in rural communities.
